In the beginning there was the chile

Well to start this whole thing off I'm new to this blogging thing, and I'm Italian.SOO I have blogging and chile rellenos going against me, which is nice. I do however, have extensive experience in eating chile rellenos. I've eaten rellenos from northern Colorado all the way down to Arizona, from California to Massachusetts. Not to toot my own horn but... toot toot.
For this first post I'm going to keep it pretty short. To be honest I'm not completely comfortable with this yet, so I'm just going to warm up a bit to this whole thing and power through it.
My name is Ryan, I'm a 25 year old non-trad college student at Colorado State University here in Fort Collins, CO. I have a wonderfully supportive wife and the funniest most energetic 8 month old son. I was born and raised in Colorado, with a short stint in Tucson, AZ when I was young. You might think the love affair for chile rellens began there, but to be honest, I was young enough that if I ate one I wouldn't have even known what it was. In fact, I didn't even realize I loved eating this mexican delight until I was in high school all those year ago. Ha just kidding. I make it sound like I'm in my 50's or 60's. Not that that's old. I digress. Back to high school I went to a restaurant with my family right around the corner from our house. The name escapes me now but I was looking it up and it looks like its out of business. Regardless, this is where I first fell in love with that deep fried cheesy peppery goodness. Every mexican restaurant I have gone to since I have ordered this heavenly dish. Some sucked, some were pretty good, and then there have been some that I dream of eating again.
My quest is to find the best chile relleno out there. To start things off I will be visiting one to two restaurants a week here in Fort Collins and moving my way out in all directions. There is a twist. If anyone out there has a killer recipe or if you even want to send me some chile rellenos I will be glad to try them out.
Until next time.
